*We have an immediate opening for an Accounting Assistant.
*This work from home position performs a variety of general accounting duties that supports the Accounting function and includes a variety of transactions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash receipts, and fixed assets.
*Key responsibilities include:*
· Enters invoices into an automated accounting information system
· Saves invoice packets and files electronically in appropriate vendor file on server
· Assist in setting up new vendors
· Assists in reviewing aging accounts payable monthly and assists in following up to resolve any outstanding issues
· Reviews aging reports and calls on past due customers
· Assist in invoicing customers
· Assist in reconciling and entering corporate credit card statements
· Assists in bank account reconciliations monthly
· Assists in account reconciliations monthly
· Supports Accounting Manager and CFO in numerous tasks, schedules, and reports
*Minimum Qualifications Include:*
· 2-year Accounting Degree with 1-3 years’ experience, or
· High School Degree with 5 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting
· *Manufacturing* accounting experience preferred
· Ability to attend in person meetings as required.
Preferred location is within a 1-hour commute to office located in Beloit, WI
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*
· Basic knowledge and application of General Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding finances and taxation
· Working knowledge of financial reporting
· Proficient and accurate data entry and keyboarding skills with strong attention to detail
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Knowledge of multiple computer software applications, preferably Microsoft Office Suite, and automated accounting information systems
· Adequate skills in account reconciliation and month-end closing responsibilities
· Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize competing demands effectively
· Ability to follow up and follow through with assigned work tasks on a timely basis
· Ability to articulate ideas and information verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, and professional manner
· Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and external vendors
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and automated Accounting Information systems
· Technical skills in account reconciliation and month-end closing
· Positive self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Professional and effective oral and written communication skills
